Norfolk Farm Wedding

This is the Norfolk farm wedding of Lucy and Fran. Lucy and Fran tied the knot at Norwich Castle in the morning.

But they decided to have a blessing in an awesome local derelict church in the small village of Tunstall.

Lucy and her bridesmaids got ready in the family home which is a delightful farmhouse nestled deep in the Norfolk countryside

I really love dark rooms with large windows letting in perfect light for bridal preparation photographs. The morning’s preparations were different to what I’m used to, there were no makeup artists or hairdressers everything was self done, which made the morning a relaxed atmosphere.

My second photography shooter Ray was with the boys that morning, capturing some pretty cool shots and having a few drinks.

The church was something that I’ve never ever done before, a church with no roof, no windows and no doors, the inside of the church were very light and an open perfect venue to have a wedding blessing.

The guest started to arrive on foot, with not a car in sight. The wedding blessing was really nice Lucy and Fran both wrote their own vows to each other, and as a symbol of the marriage they planted a small oak tree and all of the guests were invited to come and fill the pot with some earth that they had in a small packet. The confetti shots were absolutely amazing.

After the blessing, we took a nice stroll around a Stubblefield for some nice relaxed couple shots. We then walked around the farm and went into the Apple orchards which made an absolutely stunning backdrop for the photos.

The reception was held in giant tipis on the field that belongs to the family, the tipis were very spacious. As the day went on we had some amazing food and afternoon tea was served, wine and champagne were definitely flowing on this day. As the evening rolled in, I had the perfect Norfolk landscape backdrop for some of my Strobist shots, there were lots of small fires and fairy lights dotted around which gave a very romantic atmosphere.

Now the first dance was totally different to anything that I’ve done before there wasn’t a first dance it was actually a first couples DJ set. Fran and Lucy are both very good DJs so rather than hiring a band they got on the decks and the party started.

Overall it was an absolutely amazing day cannot thank Lucy and Fran enough for inviting me to be their wedding photographer I had such a good time and I’ll always remember this wedding as a very special occasion.
