Southwood Hall wedding photography. Southwood Hall is a fantastic wedding venue. I can’t believe that I have not featured a Southwood Hall wedding on my blog before. I have photographed countless weddings at Southwood Hall and only realised this now!
So this is the Southwood Hall wedding of the very lovely Emma and Ash. I first met Emma and Ash about a year ago when they contacted me to photograph their wedding at Southwood Hall. We met up a few times beforehand to go through the plans for the day. As usual in typical Norfolk fashion, the sun was out and it was nice and warm.
This was my first wedding with my new assistant and student Holly. Holly and I were greeted by Emma and her bridesmaids in the lodge. They were wearing some cool flowery silk dressing gowns and had bubbly in hand. I knew right then the day was going to be fun.
The lighting was perfect in the lodge for the bridal preparation photographs. The atmosphere was happy and relaxed, totally chilled, the way I like it. We were not sure if the ceremony would take place in the gardens or the main building at Southwood Hall due to the wind. But Ash and Emma decided to have the wedding ceremony outside.
Emma’s brother, unfortunately, missed his flight from South America so we had to stall the ceremony for a few minutes until he finally arrived in his rental car. You will see in some of the photographs that Emma did strangle her brother at my request! But it made a great photo.
The day went great without a hitch. Most weddings are filled with happiness and love but this day was so much more. Everyone seemed on fire, laughing and joking and having fun. You can see from the photo’s how beautifully it unfolded.
As the day went on we had a nice relaxing stroll around the grounds for some natural portraits. We then headed to the main hall for the party. Holly and I were having so much fun we ended up staying much later than planned to capture all the dance floor moves and grooves. A truly fabulous wedding!
